How Selling Golf Balls Turned Into a $3M Social Media Strategy

Most people think social media is about staying trendy. I hate to break it to you, but it’s not.

It’s actually about staying strategic.

I’m Bee, a Massachusetts-born entrepreneur, analytics nerd, and the founder of Busy B Social, a boutique social media consulting agency built for local businesses who are ready to grow intentionally, not just post randomly.

My approach is simple: lead with data, follow with creativity, and give each client a strategy that actually converts.

But – before we get too deep into me professionally, let’s chat about me personally!

Here’s a quick low-down👇

I’m an outdoor enthusiast, especially if it’s a beach, obsessed dog Mom to my 6-year-old Vizsla, Luna, married to my best friend, and have never met a plate of Eggs Benedict I didn’t like.

On the weekends, you’ll find me at the local Farmer’s Markets, seeing a concert, or traveling to some of my favorite local coastal spots to spend the day with my family (Luna included!)

I’m the youngest of two daughters by 13 years, and growing up, I had a lot of alone time since my sister went off to college when I was fresh out of kindergarten. 

So, what did I do?

I started a business where I would go to my local golf course and collect the abandoned golf balls in the woods, clean them, repackage them in a Ziplock bag with two balls and two tees, and resell them to the golfers for the high price of $1.

The truth is, although I’ve been organically marketing since the age of 5 (shout out to all four childhood businesses!)

I didn’t start in marketing.

I started in accounting.

And believe it or not, that’s what’s made all the difference in building my social media agency.

My degree in Accounting from UMass Amherst and my early career in public accounting and financial management taught me the importance of tracking, timing, and identifying patterns that lead to consistent long-term results.

Flash forward to today, I use those same principles to help my clients uncover exactly what’s working (and what’s not) across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
